PopRak Van of the Month: Nook Vans
Posted by Richard M. Burke, Jr. on 10th Dec 2024
Kyle Fishburn runs Nook Vans. When I once asked him why he chose that name, he told me about the intimate but comfortable feeling the word exudes, something he wanted his van builds to achieve for his customers. One of the ways Nook has proven they successfully achieve that level of comfort for their customers is with their large rear, multi-purpose bathrooms included in most of their builds. They offer the creature comforts often lacking from traveling in an otherwise well built adventure and travel van. Women love that. Hell, I love that!
Kyle was also one of the first ones to see the value and progress on the PopRak as our design progressed from concept to prototype, to early production and final revisions. Even as he suffered through our over optimistic delivery dates, he saw the progression of features that makes the PopRak valuable to van owners and easy for van builders to work with.
Kyle also got ahead of the pack by showing customers build concepts that featured 2-4 captain chair layouts in both 144 & 170" wheelbase Sprinters that offered more than enough bed space for everyone to sleep comfortably with the PopRak on top.
To begin with, PopRak adds a rack to the van's roof that offers more than 75' of linear attachment points to attach accessories, (even more when you add either (or both) of the Short or Long Rak Extensions) including: lights, awnings, solar panels, vent fans and other gear.
Our hidden wiring tracks, easily accessible at each corner through removable corner caps, give you lots of ways to power accessories that require electrical connections. In fact, adding walkable solar panels and vent fans to the PopRak roof is proving to be a regular occurrence, and one of the most important reasons why we only ship PopRaks through Licensed PopRak Installers. We know there's so much more usefulness to be had from the van's roof, that just adding a queen sized loft bedroom!
Access to the almost 100 cubic foot sky top bedroom through the roof top portal from the interior means both spaces share the same interior climate. That means in addition to more space down below, you'll have the best views to wake up to and be conveniently comfortable with secure access to anywhere inside your vehicle without the necessity of going outside.
